The Slab - 10x12 Plate Bag Set
The Slab is a flat 10x12 plate bag set built from 500D Cordura. No hardware, no cummerbund, no shoulder padding. Two bags and hook and loop.
It exists because not every carrier needs to be a system. If you already own a cummerbund and shoulder pads, or you are building toward something specific, this is the bag set to start from.
Hook and loop across the rear accepts a cummerbund. The front face accepts any hook and loop placard.
Available in every 500D colorway we stock, which is more colors than anything else we build.
Cut and sewn in Dallas, Texas.
Flat by Design
No moulded panels, no padding, no hardware to snag or fail. The Slab sits close and stays out of the way under a jacket or a chest rig.
Hook and Loop Throughout
Rear hook and loop for the cummerbund. Hook and loop shoulder attachment so you can set ride height exactly. Hook and loop front face for placards. Nothing is sewn down where it ought to be adjustable.
10x12 SAPI Fitment
Built around standard 10x12 SAPI cut plates. Works with ceramic or poly, and will take standalone soft armor.
Set, Front or Rear
Buy the pair, or buy one bag. The front is the one people run on its own, mounted to another carrier or used as the base of a build. The rear is mostly bought as a replacement. Two singles cost a little more than the set, which is the honest math on cutting and sewing two separate orders instead of one.
What Is Not Included
No cummerbund. No shoulder padding. No hardware. The Slab is the bag set only. Add what you need or run what you already own.

The Slab is the minimum: bags, hook and loop, nothing else. If you want a complete carrier with a lasercut cummerbund and padded shoulders already matched and in the box, take the Springbok.

We rely on laser-cutting technology to ensure precision and consistency across every piece of gear we make. As humans, we’re not immune to error — that’s why we use the best tools at our disposal. Laser cutting allows us to produce clean edges, repeatable patterns, and tight tolerances that traditional methods can’t match, all while maximizing material efficiency and structural integrity.
Genuine Patterns
Sable Defense gear is made using licensed, genuine authentic camouflage patterns. We don’t use knockoff prints or overseas copies — every branded fabric is sourced from authorized U.S. mills to ensure color accuracy, NIR compliance, and long-term durability.
Material Used
When we can we will use only U.S.-sourced, military-grade materials. That includes 500D Cordura® nylon for abrasion resistance and durability, Squadron™ laminate for laser-cut precision and rigidity, Type 69 bonded nylon thread for strength and long-term wear, mil-spec hook & loop for reliable attachment, and ITW Nexus or Duraflex® hardware for dependable load-bearing components. All materials are selected for performance in real-world conditions — no knockoffs, no imported substitutes.
NIR Compliance / BERRY Amendment
Sable Defense gear prioritizes berry amendment compliant fabrics when possible through our sources we use US produced fabrics as of now this applies to all Multicam, solid color and M81 offerings.
Obscure "niche" camo webbing used in our slings is almost always sourced from overseas as US mills simply just don't produce it.
When available we always priortize US fabric and when we can't we will let you know!

Yes. We offer limited custom and small-batch production. Reach out with your specs or unit needs, and we’ll let you know if it’s something we can take on.
Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes — everything we make is backed by a lifetime warranty. If your gear fails due to workmanship or material defects, we’ll repair or replace it. Simple as that.
Returns / Exchanges
We accept returns or exchanges on all gear for any reason within 30 days of delivery.
